Maybe One Day

I will do this with fidelity and therefor finally have the results I've been striving towards for years now.  I mean the lack of consistency is amazingly frustrating.  I realize that it is all me but I swear the thoughts in my head are both encouraging and damaging and ultimately can be stagnating.

I did my 2nd half marathon back in March in NYC.  Disaster!!! Finished but my time was off and by the end I was limping like an old maid.  Of course what I did to prepare...

Exactly.  Nada.  Maybe a 3mile hike here or there but nothing strenuous or serious or pushing me so not surprising that was the aftermath.

I'm on day 2 of this push.  I know - here we go again.  But if at first you don't succeed...

Day 1, I did 6.5 miles through Nashville.

Day 2, I walked a total of 5 miles (to and from) Shelby Lake.

Let's see what day 3 will actually hold if anything.  And of course more traveling at the end of this week which always seems to deter me.

The mental game one has to play with oneself and the fortitude behind it is amazing but I can only take it day by day.

LA and back and 5lbs down

Well kids, I've been to the moon and back.  Ok, just LA but you know might as well be...

Unfortunately a terrible cold got the best of me.

I've mainly been traveling by car these past few trips so totally forgot all the preventive steps I take before a flight.  Recirculated air is the worse especially when you are sitting next to a medical mask wearing mass of germs in coach, which I swear gets smaller and smaller.  What we peons must go through.  Sigh...

Anywho despite that damage control did continue but mainly more on calisthenics than on cardio since you know I could barely breathe once the cold won out.  Here's the play by play:

Day 1 and Night 1:  Healthy eating and a walk around the neighborhood

Day 2: 5 miles walk and a day at the beach

Day 3 and beyond:  Here is when the cold kicks my ass.  Look at me all bundled up!

Even so, still did my calisthenics!  I am in love with the yoag ball.  Great for core and my back.

On my last night, managed to go out and dance.  Sweated up a storm in this small enclosed space playing reggae, MJ, drum and base, and NYC style hip hop!  I swear I dropped 2lbs there alone!

An that's all folks.  Now more travel for work.  Let's hope damage control continues.  5lbs down in one week without much cardio is great!  Can we do it again?

2016 is our best body year.  #Oprah

Operation Damage Control Day 1

Operation Damage Control has gone well so far.  3 lbs down in over 24 hours.  Although I have this bad twilight zone feeling that I keep losing and gaining the same 15lbs and I am cursed to do so for the rest of my days.

Okay, dramatic much.

This s my bday week and while I have been having fun, I definitely feel at a crossroads.  And this journey is just part of that milestone that seems to never be reached.  All I can do is push through but it's an emotional rollercoaster.

Aw well...

My midnight ride...

Time for another reset

I wonder how often I will be saying that.  All my hard work thrown away because I was in like 5 cities in 7 days.  And while there, it was work, work, work and no working out!!! And forget watching what I was eating.  Totally just gave up after day 1 of that cycle.  So here we go again....

Shaking my head....

And after writing that, it happened again.  Hello Super Bowl and another whirlwind trip of three cities in three days!

Obviously before the tragic events of that game :-(

I swear consistency is key and I am sorely lacking in this department.  No where near the goals I set for my LA trip coming up this weekend.  So now it is time to kick my butt in gear and see what's what and do DAMAGE control.  It's also my bday month and those who know me will know this will be a serious balancing act - not to mention the hours dedicated to building my business.  Sigh...

But it needs to be done.  Look at what I have done to myself!  Soooo not cute.  Granted, I'm sitting and no one has a cute body then but still... Ugh.

Back on the balanced lifestyle I know how to do in theory but in practice...

For example, I worked out yesterday but it was Mardi Gras and my bday so last minute decided on a girls' night out (haven't had one in a while and soooo refreshing)

Today is day 2 of butt kicking.  So far weights and 2 hours of biking cardio:

So I can work and work out, I created a makeshift desk :-)  Yea, multitasking!!!!

Wish me luck in this damage control cycle.  I will NEED IT!!!!!

Another Winter Day

And no, I am not in NJ...

Sigh....

Besides work, this is what I have done this AM

Week 2 is done

Total 7lbs down and 2 inches down but I'm a little bummed.  Definitely wanted 10lbs at 5lbs/week but for someone my size I guess that's practically starving so...  I've done this without really changing my lifestyle and that's the whole point otherwise how would it be sustainable...

Winter is Upon Us

Ok - it's official.  It snowed while I was back in NJ and it's below freezing here in TN.  And surprisingly the cold air outside has not been bothering me.  Being cold indoors does however.  I think I like feeling the four seasons albeit in very small doses.  I'm sure if it's still this freezing for the next two months, I will be saying something completely different.

I rode my bike and read the New Jim Crow for an hour yesterday before getting ready to fly back to TN.

From the plane

When I get home, this is my indoor bike,  Long story or not (but makes for a good party story) as to how I acquired it.

And yes for 60 minutes this morning, I rode a bike and drank a toddy because it's FREEZING outside!

Day in NYC

I met my bestie from NYU for a day in NYC.  We went to the Met, and later listened and danced to live Afro-Cuban music.  It snowed a bit but wasn't cold so walking around was fine and made me in a very brief nostalgic way, miss this area.  There's no place like the city...  It's magical and gritty all at once.

More on what I mentioned yesterday about the clothes fitting better.  I bought these pants that were my size back in Thanksgiving but surprise! They did not fit.  Was not happy about that.  So left them here in NJ, never to be thought if again since clearly they were made all wrong.   Anywho, I fit into those bad boys yesterday.

Of course being in NYC nearly derailed all the good work I've been doing however we walked around the Met, the city, and danced so I feel like I burned off most of the liquid calories I imbibed.  Looking at my tracker, I netted about 800 calories so that was good.

All in all, a great trip.  Can't wait to come back in about two months.

Hope you enjoy your MLK day!!!!

NJ working out and full steam ahead

Sp between the tracker and this blog, I have actually been sticking to my fitness plan.  Since I landed in NJ, I have averaged 90 mins of working out/day!  yea!  Ler's see how long this lasts.  Did I mention I bought a scale?  So when I get back to town I will see what that bane of my existence actually says.  I'm still tracking inches and accordingly that is going well.  And clothes are starting to fit better!!!  More on that later.

I am also taking this time to reflect on why I like my 600lb life.  It is a blessing and a curse.  It can motivate or make you lazy depending.  You can watch and say hey, I'm nowhere near there and decide to be lazy and become complacent.  Or you can be inspired with the way most of the folks set a goal and despite all the trials and tribulations stick with the plan.  That's what I use it for.  Inspiration.  So in that vain, I have been carving out that time this weekend.  Although I haven't quite balanced out working on my body vs working on work.  Hopefully that will start to iron out in the next week or so.

Here I am before going on a nice nature walk of 3 miles with a friend.  Go Patriots Path!

And now here I am tired after a 2 hour work out.  A little on the tired side.  Lol. Definitely took a nap after this before heading out for a night out with one of my besties.

And this morning I was on the bike for an hour.  So all in all, things are progressing nicely and I am feeling quite GOOD!!!!

Not as long as last time

Hey all, sorry for the delay here but not as long as last time.  Baby steps and celebrating small victories!

This week has been full of traveling from Miami to Nashville to Memphis.  Currently I am typing this at the airport using my hotspot.

Despite all the traveling, I stuck to the plan and put together a homegrown tracker.  So at the end of the week I will post the tracker with the results.  So in one week, according to my calculations, I should have lost 3lbs.  And I did!  Plus 2 more so a total of 5.  This was just cutting back on portions and caloric intake.  There was not much working out due to all the traveling.  This week, I hope to kick that up a gear and see where we are from there.

And side note:  My waiter at the airport told me I was small.  In reference to the fact that I only ate half of my breakfast.  If only he knew the will power.  Lol!!!
