I have reveled in my lack of willpower for about a month now but really the rubber has hit the road at this point. Next week, I'm off to Tobago for my bestie's wedding. My work out plans had been derailed for the entire month so now it's time to make up for four weeks in less than a week. Wish me luck!!! Because I will definitely need it!!!
That was definitely the crunch-time type motivation I needed. I find I work best under pressure with deadlines looming large. I was a bit ambitious with my hip measurements and length measurements so I'm a bit nervous about that. If I can't tighten up my hips and ass then I will have a hard time getting into this darn skirt that is being made. Sometimes I just have to laugh at myself... Yesterday, when I went to the gym, I mainly focused on legs for that reason and that will most likely continue to be the case.
Here is the shocking thing about my full month off in January; I managed to maintain the weight loss. I mean I did no working out! I was certain I was blowing up like a damn balloon but in fact I was not. On Saturday, I made it to African Dance class. Boy, was that stressful at first (I felt like an idiot) but finally got the hang of it. Went out with same friends from class later that night for some Island Vibes and homegirl was like you are an insane dancer, what happened this AM? Dancing is an art form to me, I don't like the structure of following someone else's moves but I will probably try it again - maybe even this Saturday over my bday weekend.
Sunday, I finally found myself back on the exercise bike and doing calisthenics...
Yesterday, I went to the gym. Hopefully I will make it again this evening. Tonight I'm doing Ladies Night for my bday. (As some of you may know I tend to celebrate the whole month with a variety of friends and family) This weekend, starting Friday, will definitely be action packed so gym time will be essential to making sure I can fit into my outfits for the wedding and look great on the beach!
As I said. yesterday I concentrated on legs so here I am doing sitting weighted squats, hip abductors and adductors, then onto the stairmaster (which I must say is my favorite) I warmed up first on the treadmill, max incline steady pace for twenty minutes.
And let's not forget that this is all about staying in shape while partying!!! Here I am at Island Vibes!!!
Don't worry fellas!!! That ass is just getting tighter and rounder!!!
Decided to shoot some people and watch the Super Bowl. That was the highlight of a very disappointing game except when Missy Elliot rocked it out during the Half time Show. She totally stole the show!!!!
Here I am at Jackson's before I went to the gym. Who says you can't have your cake (or that cocktail) and eat (drink) it too!!!!
Since starting the plan again this Sunday, I have lost a total of three inches in my waist and about an inch in my hips. Hips are super stubborn so I definitely need to do more squats, Stairmaster, etc this evening at the gym.
Let me tell you this journey is so emotional. One day, I feel absolutely great and beautiful and wonderful and the next bloated, fat. Cute but chubby like a CareBear and really who wants to be a CareBear...? I know ultimately it's about how I feel inside but when will the outside start looking like the beautiful fabulous me I feel on the inside. But I don't give up, maybe digress a bit...
Because ultimately, for me it's all about the journey. Just like the different hairstyles I wear, I like to see how my body shapes and develops as I continue to lift weights, do cardio, (and hopefully get back into yoga soon)
So 2015 officially starts for me during this amazing month of February, also known as my bday month also known as a future holiday...
